Title: Finger of God
Location: Stockholm, Sweden

Film stock: Cinestill 400D
Background: Inside the Drottingholm Palace. A UNESCO World Heritage site built in the 1600s and is a beautiful representation of European architecture for that period. I remember walking up the stairs and seeing this statue being perfectly lit by the light from that tiny window above.
I had Cinestill 400D loaded in my camera which is known for its cinematic look (hence the name). This film is produced without the anti-hilation layer, which gives photographs a unique dreamy look by creating a red glow/halo around bright lights.
I titled this photograph “Finger of God” because the light from the window shining onto the statue reminds me of Jacob’s ladder and The Creation of Adam. The glow from the film and sun touch the most important parts of her body: her finger, chest, forehead, and the book she is carrying. To me it symbolizes divine strength and power (her finger), knowledge, (the book), love (her chest, the heart), and higher consciousness (the forehead).
